    Ishaq Dar to return to Pakistan along with PM Shehbaz Sharif: sources

    LONDON: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Ishaq Dar will return to Pakistan on Monday along with Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, ARY News reported on Saturday quoting sources.

    A decision was taken during Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s meeting with party supremo Nawaz Sharif in London on Saturday, say sources.

    Dar will take oath as a Senator immediately after his return to Pakistan, they say.

    Sources further said that Miftah Ismail, the current finance minister, will remain part of the government’s economic team, while Ishaq Dar will assume charge as the coalition government’s new finance minister.

    Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday reached London to meet his brother and PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif to discuss the ongoing political situation in the country.

    Both leaders discussed the strategy to deal with PTI Chief Imran Khan’s call for a long march, sources informed ARY News.

    Sources revealed that the two leaders also discussed the strategy to overthrow PTI’s government in Punjab.

    Earlier today, it emerged that the ruling coalition has decided to hand over the finance ministry to Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Ishaq Dar after he returns to the country.

    According to sources, the ruling coalition has decided to give tough time to opposition as the government starts taking measures to end the current political uncertainty.

    Sources told ARY News that PPP co-Chairman Asif Ali Zardari, PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif, and PDM Chief Fazlur Rehman were in contact to end the political crisis in the country.

    LONDON: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif on Saturday reached London to meet his brother and PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif to discuss the ongoing political situation in the country, ARY News reported citing sources.

    According to the agenda of PM Shehbaz’s meeting with Nawaz, the strategy to deal with PTI Chief Imran Khan’s call for a long march will be discussed in the meeting.

    Sources told ARY News that the two leaders are expected to discuss the ongoing situation in the country and strategy to overthrow PTI’s government in Punjab.

    It was further learnt that the final decision regarding the next elections will also be taken in the all-important meeting between the two leaders.

    PM Shehbaz, along with Minister for Information Marriyum Aurangzeb reached London after attending the 77th United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) in New York.

    In his 5-day visit to the United States (US), the premier met a number of world leaders, including US President Joe Biden, attending the 193-member’s high-level debate.

    He also held meetings with the President of the General Assembly, Csaba Korosi, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, as well as heads of International Organizations, IFIs, and philanthropic organizations.

    LONDON: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has arrived in London and will meet Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) supremo and former premier Nawaz Sharif, ARY News reported on Saturday.

    According to details, the prime minister has arrived in London after concluding five-day visit to United States (US) where he headed Pakistan’s delegation in the 77th session of United Nations General Assembly (UNGA).

    During his stay in London, PM Shehbaz Sharif will also meet his elder brother and PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif. Sources told ARY News that former finance minister Ishaq Dar’s return to Pakistan will be decided after meeting with the premier.

    In his 5-day visit to the United States (US), the premier met a number of world leaders, including US President Joe Biden, attending the 193-member’s high-level debate.

    He also held meetings with the President of the General Assembly, Csaba Korosi, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres, as well as heads of International Organizations, IFIs, and philanthropic organizations.

    Earlier in the day, it was reported that the ruling coalition decided to hand over the finance ministry to Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Ishaq Dar after he returns to the country.

    According to sources, the ruling coalition has decided to give tough time to opposition as the government starts taking measures to end the current political uncertainty.

    A day earlier, an accountability court suspended former Finance Minister Ishaq Dar’s chronic arrest warrants until October 7, saying the court would scrap the arrest warrants when the accused presents himself before the court.

    The court suspended his arrest warrants on his lawyer Qazi Misbah’s guarantee that Dar would come straight to the court after landing at the airport.

    The campaign, being run in collaboration with London based leading real estate developer ONE Homes, features the beauty of Pakistan and its culture from Islamabad Monument and K2 to Badshahi Masjid and the three World Cup footballs Pakistan has produced.

    ISLAMABAD: Former Finance Minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Ishaq Dar has been issued passport in Islamabad, ARY NEWS reported.

    According to sources privy to the matter, Dar was issued passport in Islamabad and he would soon receive it in London. “The officials have conveyed to him regarding issuance of passport to him,” they said.

    Dar has left Pakistan four years back and is wanted in Pakistan in multiple cases.

    Previously, Ishaq Dar said he will go to Saudi Arabia for performing Umrah after getting his passport.

    Speaking to media in London along with PPP leader Qamar Zaman Kaira, Ishaq Dar said he has not received his passport yet but he has planned to visit Saudi Arabia first to perform Umrah after getting it.

    Responding to a question about tax returns, Ishaq Dar said he has been fixed in a case of not paying tax returns. This is on record that I’ve never paid my tax returns late, he added.

    Last week, Prime Minister (PM) Shehbaz Sharif directed the interior ministry to issue a diplomatic passport to former prime minister Nawaz Sharif.

    Shehbaz Sharif after assuming charge of his office got a briefing from the diplomatic staff about the issuance of a passport to the PML-N supremo. Pakistan’s mission in London was directed to issue diplomatic passports to former prime minister Nawaz Sharif and former finance minister Ishaq Dar.

    However, the diplomatic staff said only Nawaz Sharif can be issued a diplomatic passport, not Ishaq Dar, on which PM Shehbaz Sharif directed to issue a normal Pakistani passport to Dar.

    LONDON: Pakistani Embassy in London on Monday has been issued a passport to former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, ARY News reported.

    It may be noted that the passport of the former prime minister was revoked on Feb 16, last year, who is in London in connection with his treatment.

    The PML-N supremo has been issued a Pakistani passport in the normal category for 10 years. After a change of government in Pakistan, the passport of Nawaz Sharif has been renewed on the directions of PM Shehbaz Sharif.

    New government instructed the relevant authorities to issue a passport to former prime minister and he is free to travel to Pakistan

    Ordinary Passport was issued on 23rd of April 2022 in Islamabad. According to Sharif family sources, the travel date is not planned yet. Nawaz Sharif had an appointment at Pakistan High Commission London on the 23rd of April which was cancelled at the last minute and sources claim his fingerprints were taken at his residence by Pakistan High Commission staff.

    Nawaz Sharif’s visa was refused by The Home Office and his appeal’s initial bearding held at the First Tier Tribunal (Asylum and Immigration Chamber) on 18th of February this year.

    LONDON: Senior Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader Qamar Zaman Kaira on Saturday confirmed that party chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will take oath as foreign minister (FM) in a day or two, ARY News reported. 

    Talking to the media in London flanked by the former finance minister and PML-N leader Ishaq Dar, Qamar Zaman Kaira said all the matters have been sorted out and the PPP chairman has left for Pakistan after meeting with former prime minister Nawaz Sharif.

    “Bilawal Bhutto Zardari will take oath as FM in a day or two”, Qamar Zaman Kaira was quoted as saying in a press briefing.

    Earlier on April 19, a deadlock persisted between Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz and Pakistan People’s Party as Bilawal did not take oath as foreign minister.

    Sources privy to the development had said that the consultation regarding Bilawal’s oath as minister in PM Sharif’s cabinet had been done and the decision has been conditionally attached with the provision of ministries to ANP and Mohsin Dawar.

    It is to be noted here that the PPP chairman, earlier this week held a meeting with Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) Quaid Nawaz Sharif in London.

    Bilawal Bhutto Zardari congratulated Nawaz Sharif on the toppling of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) led government. They exchanged views on the current political situation of the country.

    LONDON: A youth was subjected to torture by a security guard of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif when he was filming the PML-N supreme leader during his arrival at his office in London, ARY News reported on Saturday.

    As per details, a youth named Shayan was manhandled by the security guard of former prime minister Nawaz Sharif, when he was filming him. In a video available with ARY News, the security guard can be seen slapping Shayan Ali.

    After being informed about the incident, the London police reached the spot and started an investigation. The incident occurred at 4pm according to the London Standard Time.

    The mother of Shayad Ali said her son was attacked on the behest of Nawaz Sharif and Ishaq Dar for protesting against them.

    Meanwhile, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has said that the youth attacked the security guard firstly and he the retaliation was a response to him.

    Back in the month of August in 2017, a boy namely Hamid Chugtai, a resident of Lala Musa was killed, when a car in the convoy of Nawaz Sharif hit him, as he was on way to Gujrat through GT road in a rally.

    Nawaz Sharif who was going to his home city after disqualification as a result of a court verdict had an ambulance in his cavalcade but none of the cars in the caravan stopped to even looked at the dead kid.

    Daily Mail submits response to defamation case by Shehbaz Sharif

    London: British newspaper Daily Mail stands its ground in rebuttal to a defamation case registered against them by Shehbaz Sharif.

    Daily Mail had published a piece of news regarding Shehbaz and his son-in-law’s properties.

    According to details, the British newspaper has submitted a 49-page response to the defamation case.

    According to sources, the rebuttal includes references to NAB cases registered against Shehbaz and his son-in-law in Pakistan. Details of their accounts have also been submitted, said sources.

    The response also includes statements by the Shareef family’s employees, who allegedly deposited million of rupees in bank accounts in Dubai and Pakistan, say sources.

    Reportedly, the British paper has claimed that Shehbaz and his son-in-law’s assets skyrocketed after he ascend to Chief Ministership. Ramzan sugar mill has also been mentioned in the response, the sources say.

    “We had asked the Shareef family’s opinion before publishing the story” Daily Mail claims.

    According to newspaper officials, David Rose talked to Salman Shehbaz twice, Maryam Aurangzeb and Azam Tarar were also contacted but they did not respond.

    The Daily Mail also claimed that Ali Imran’s (Shehbaz’s son-in-law) assets have also seen a major climb after Shehbaz’s rise to power.
