ISLAMABAD: The Spokesperson of the Foreign Office (FO) Dr. Muhammad Faisal on Saturday said Pakistan’s Embassy in Iraq has successfully managed to send all the stranded pilgrims there, back to the country.

” An inquiry is being conducted against the tour operator whose inefficiency created problems for the pilgrims visiting Iraq”, Dr Faisal said in his tweet.

He also lauded Pakistani Ambassador in Iraq, Sajid Bilal and his team for their efforts for the solution of the problem.

It was learnt on Thursday that, over 100 Pakistani pilgrims were left helpless at the Baghdad airport, who pleaded the government to take notice of the matter as they were out of money for food or to buy return tickets.

Responding to the appeal made by the countrymen, the Pakistan’s Embassy in Iraq reached them out and provided them with the tickets for their safe and early return to the homeland.

Earlier, in month of August this year, around 214 Pakistani passengers were stranded at Guangzhou Airport in China, were rescued for home via a special flight of Shaheen Airline.
