QUETTA: The patients in Balochistan, particularly those coming from remote areas to the provincial capital, have been facing immense difficulties as the strike of the Young Doctors Association (YDA) entered its fifth day, ARY News reported on Friday.
The association of junior doctors along with paramedical staff has shut down outpatient departments (OPDs) across the province to press the government for accepting their demands.
The YDA has been demanding an increase in salaries and additional facilities for hospitals across the province.
Besides the strike of YDA, the paramedical staffs at public hospitals have also been observing strike for last 11 days, demanding facilities and an increment in the salaries.
The protesting doctors and staff vowed to continue their strike until their demands are met.
Justifying their strike, the body of young doctors says they are demanding their legitimate rights which the provincial government had earlier acknowledged.
The junior doctors said both the health and home ministers have earlier promised to meet their demands but they have failed to deliver.
They conceded that the patients have been facing problems but held the provincial government responsible for the situation.
