ANDHRA PRADESH: An Indian freelance journalist was badly beaten up in a broad daylight by kin of ruling Telugu Desam Party MLA Amanchi Krishna Mohan for reporting on the parliamentarian’s corrupt practices.
The police in Prakasam district in Andhra Pradesh booked a case of assault against both the men – MLA and his brother.
A video clipping of the incident, which happened on Sunday, went viral in the social media, evoking angry reactions from journalists across the country. Hundreds of media persons took out a rally in Chirala on Monday demanding stern action against the MLA and his followers.
The journalist, Nagarjana suffered severe injuries on his head and legs and was rushed to the nearest government hospital.
