A video of a man being beaten up by his wife and sister-in-law for asking about expenses is going viral on social media.
According to details, the incident took place in Kanpur district of India’s Uttar Pradesh (UP), wherein a man was beaten up by his wife and sister-in-law for asking about expenses.
Indian media reported that the incident took place after the man asked his wife to tell him how she spent the money he had sent her.
The man – identified as Shivkumar –runs a Kulfi cart along with his brother and send money to his wife, Sushila, every month for household expenses.
On returning home from Banaras, Shivkumar discovered that his wife had sold eight quintals of wheat without any explanation. He confronted Sushila about the wheat sale and asked for an account of the Rs 32,000 that he had sent her.
The woman got furious and tied up Shivkumar’s hands along along with her sister and started beating him with sticks.
A police official stated that a complaint of assault was filed by Shivkumar and a case has been registered under Sections 323 (Voluntarily causing hurt) and 504 (Insult to provoke breach of peace) of the Indian Penal Code.
