KARACHI: The police in plain clothes gunned down a gang of street criminals in the Malir Saudabad area early this morning, ARY News reported on Monday.
In order to trap the accused robbers, Karachi police deployed some undercover police officers in the guise of citizens in plain clothes in the Malir Saudabad area.
The CCTV footage of the police encounter revealed that the motorcycle-riding suspects arrived at the scene, only to be confronted by undercover police officers.
One of the accused, dressed in a black dress, can be seen in the video attempting to flee and firing shots at the police, while the second suspect, on a motorcycle, shot dead while attempting to escape from the scene.
Upon receiving information about the incident, additional law enforcement personnel swiftly arrived for the backup.
In a subsequent confrontation in another street, the three suspects, including a fugitive, were shot dead by the police officials.
Meanwhile, the police recovered a total of 32 mobile phones from the possession of the deceased suspects, with 15 of them linked to registered cases.
However, according to data extracted from NADRA Islamabad, the alleged street criminals were identified as Akhtar Gul from Malir Karachi, while the remaining three, Qamar Uddin, Haidar Khan, and Dad Mohammad belong to Afghanistan.
