Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR), in a press statement said that the matters related to security situation in Afghanistan along with prospects for peace with particular emphasis on reconciliation process in the country were discussed in the meeting.
“The newly appointed SRSG also appreciated successes of ongoing Operation Zarb-e-Azb and acknowledged the sacrifices and efforts by Pakistani security forces for peace and stability in the region,” ISPR stated.
It should be noted that the army chief earlier in a telephone call to Afghan President Ashraf Ghani sought help in safe recovery of the crew members of Punjab government’s helicopter.
The Afghan President assured the Pakistan Army chief full support of his government in this regard.
