According to police, the incident occurred when a man invited his relatives and other guests to celebrate his son’s birthday.
Shahid Butt had ordered shawarma from a nearby shop at Chowk Nakhuda for all the guests. Following eating the meal, at least 30 people fell unconscious.
They were moved to Kot Khwaja Saeed Hospital, while some of them were taken to other nearby hospitals. Doctors, however, termed their condition out of danger.
According to reports, police took an action against the shop for selling unhygienic food, sealed it and took its workers into custody.
