Two civilians injured in unprovoked Indian firing at LoC

RAWALPINDI: At least two civilians, including a woman were injured in unprovoked Indian forces’ firing along the Line of Control (LoC) on Wednesday, said Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).

According to military’s media wing, Indian troops targeted civilian population in Baghsar sector today (Wednesday) and resultantly two civilian Baba Jan, 75, and Azmat Bibi, 55 sustained bullet wounds. Rescue officials shifted the injured to the hospital.

The spokes person said that Indian forces were targeting civilian population across the line of control. Refuting the Indian allegations, the military’s media wing said that Pakistani forces hit only Indian check posts and military installation.

Pakistan’s air force, navy and military were alert and ready to defend the motherland round the clock, said ISPR.

It is pertinent to mention here that despite releasing the Indian pilot as ‘peace gesture’ by Pakistani government, Indian army had reluctant to de-escalate tension in the region as it continued unproved firing across the Line of Control (LoC).

According to the military’s media wing, Indian troops had continued intermittent firing in different sectors along the LoC. Indian forces had violated the LoC at Nezapir, Khanjar, Batal, Bagh Sar, Pando and other sectors on March 4.
