KARACHI: Sindh Government has sent the student of Larkana Cadet College – who according to his family was allegedly tortured by the college officials– for medical treatment in the United States, ARY News reported.
Chief Minister of Sindh Murad Ali Shah sent the student Mohammad Ahmad and his father to the United States.
He will be treated at Cincinnati Children’s Hospital Medical Center in the state of Ohio and his treatment expenses will be paid by the government of Sindh, sources said. The provincial government has transferred Rs. 40 million to the hospital to meet the expenses of the student.
According to sources, the student’s father will stay at a four-star hotel and his expenses will be paid by the provincial government.
Ahmad’s family had claimed in August last year that they found their son in an unconscious condition but the college administration had denied he was tortured by any college official.
The medical report stated that he suffered lack of oxygen to his brain after being hit with a heavy article due to which he lost his mental capabilities.
The doctors, examining the cadet, had stated that Ahmed can only be treated abroad.
Sindh Chief Minister on the appeal of Ahmed’s father decided to send the injured child abroad for medical treatment.
