Two of the iconic Indian cinema mega stars, Rajinikanth and Amitabh Bachchan are all set to reunite on screen after 33 years.

More than three decades after they last shared the screen in the crime action film ‘Hum’, Rajinikanth is set to collaborate with his ‘mentor’ Amitabh Bachchan in his next untitled film, ‘Thalaivar 170’.
The ‘Jailer’ star welcomed Bachchan to the project, sharing a new picture of them from a vanity van, as they began shooting together on Wednesday. “After 33 years, I am working again with my mentor, the phenomenon, Shri Amitabh Bachchan in the upcoming Lyca’s ‘Thalaivar 170’,” he wrote with the photo on the micro-blogging site X.
“My heart is thumping with joy.”
It is pertinent to mention that the production banner of the upcoming Tamil-language film, Lyca Productions, confirmed the casting of Bachchan earlier this month, with a welcome post on social media.
Apart from the two megastars, the title, directed by T.J Gnanavel, also features Ritika Singh, Manju Warrier and Dushara Vijayan, while the latest music sensation, Anirudh Ravichander, composes the music for ‘Thalaivar 170’.
