ISLAMABAD: The committee that will hold talks with Taliban militants discussed its mandate in its introductory meeting held in Islamabad on Friday morning with Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in chair. 

According to ARY News, the members of the committee Rahimullah Yousufzai, Rustam Shah Mohmand, Major (retd) Amir and Irfan Siddiqui were present in the meeting, which was also attended by Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan. 

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif in his introductory remarks asked the members to hold talks with the groups of Taliban militants who want to hold talks with the government.

The meeting in detail discussed the strategy and framework of dialogue with militants. The meeting also touched upon topics in the committee's mandate and rules of negotiations with militants.
