ISLAMABAD: Tehreek e Taliban Pakistan (TTP) has said it was not involved in the Islamabad terrorist attack in fruit market, ARY News reported on Wednesday.

Taliban spokesman Shahidullah Shahid disown the responsibility of the terrorist attack in which at least 21 persons were killed and 54 others were injured.

The spokesman said that the TTP, an umbrella group of militants, has not been involved in the market attack.

"We don't target innocent people," the spokesman said. Killing innocent people is forbidden under Sharia, he added.

Professor Ibrahim, a member of the talks committee of Taliban, said the terrorist attack was a bid by miscreants to derail the process of dialogue between the government and Taliban.

He demanded proper investigation of the deadly attack to expose the perpetrators of the crime.
