Over a thousand lives have been lost in Karachi during the past five days of an unrelenting heatwave. Every day brings with it the tragic news of hundreds of deaths -- deaths that could have been avoided if the city was better governed, had a reliable and constant supply of electricity and its residents had ready access to abundant supplies of clean drinking water.
As the soaring temperature and intense heat claimed more than 750 lives in Karachi alone, Pakistanis tweeted humorous tips on Twitter to beat the heat.
