DHAKA: Bangladesh on Tuesday summoned Pakistan's high commissioner to lodge a protest after a Bangladeshi official in Islamabad was detained for four hours, two Dhaka officials said, amid a worsening diplomatic row between the two countries.
It has been forty-four years ever since the Fall of Dhaka. East Pakistan seceded from West Pakistan and became an independent state on its own, named Bangladesh. Millions were displaced and killed as a result of the conflict.

ISLAMABAD: Taking note of Prime Minister Modi’s statements during his visit to Bangladesh in which he acknowledged Indian Government’s involvement in the events of 1971 in the then East Pakistan, the Foreign Office spokesman Qazi M. Khalilullah has said on Tuesday that it only confirmed Pakistan’s stance on India’s negative role against a sovereign neighbouring state.
