‘Sweet potato’ helps cops arrest murder suspect

Policew arrested a suspect in a 12-year murder case after they found his DNA on a sweet potato.

  1. According to foreign news agency Cape Cod Times, the 40-year-old Devarus Hampton allegedly shot dead Todd Lampley, 31, via bedroom in Massachusettes’ Hyannis village on February 27, 2011. He died on the spot.

The prosecutors informed the court of law enforcement finding the sweet potato, black cellphone and shell casings from the crime scene in the hearing on Monday at the Barnstable District Court. 

According to a report, his phone was registered after the HBO Max show ‘The Wire‘ character Marlo Stanfield. The 40-year-old, who is in jail without bail,  pleaded not guilty to murder, assault and possession charges.
