According to initial details, the duration of the earthquake was said to be between 15-20 seconds. The earthquake’s depth was recorded at 72 meters and it was recorded as 5.0 magnitude by the Met Department. It has also been reported that the Hindukush region in Afghanistan was the epicenter of the earthquake.
People were horrified and started rushing out of their homes and shops into the safety of the open area, reciting the kalima. The earthquake jolted Swat, Malakand, Chitral and adjoining areas around 09:55 am.
