KARACHI: The scorching heatwave that enveloped the metropolis for more than five days is now finally freeing Karachi from its sweltering shackles as sea breeze has started to blow again on Thursday.

After baking Karachi for four days at above 40 degree Celsius, at last, the mercury came down by two to three degree Celsius when sea breeze started blowing in the city today.

The maximum temperature today will range between 38 to 40 degree Celsius, whereas the level of humidity will remain 60-70%, the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) said in its daily weather forecast.

PMD has predicted that hot weather will continue to recede in Karachi as maximum temperature of 37-39°C and 36-38°C are expected to be recorded on Friday and Saturday respectively.

Nevertheless, the scorching intensity of temperature will remain constant in parts of interior Sindh and Punjab.

According to the met office, temperature will hover between 43-45 degree Celsius in Hyderabad and Sukkur. Whereas, the weather in Islamabad, Lahore, Multan, Faislabad and Sargodha is also expected to stay hot and dry.
