It is learnt that over a dozen people were aboard a van that plunged into the river. Those who are believed to be drowned into the river include three women and three children. Bodies of the four people have been recovered, while search for the remaining three was underway.
Rescuers had reached the spot after the incident and started search for the missing people.
Local officials also made it to the site to help carrying out the rescue activities.
