Malik, had earlier served in the office of the Advocate General from December 2010 till June 2013. He served in that position for a little over two and a half years, and tendered his resignation reportedly due to some differences with the Sindh government.
Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ebad Khan had again appointed Advocate Fatah Malik in February 2014 as the top lawyer of the provincial government.
