The chief secretary has also issued a notification in this regard. This is the first time the provincial government has announced a public holiday on the occasion of the Hindu festival.
The notification said all offices, autonomous, semi-autonomous agencies of the provincial administration, except the essential services, will observe the holiday on March 24.
