KARACHI: The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) Chairman Lieutenant General Mohammad Afzal has met Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah where they held discussions over the issues of COVID-19 pandemic, locust attacks on crops and other matters, ARY News reported on Monday.

Lt Gen Mohammad Afzal briefed Sindh CM Murad Ali Shah that NDMA was acting an effective role for the elimination of locusts. He said that the locusts were fully eliminated in Punjab province and activities were continued in some districts of Sindh.

Regarding the pandemic situation, the NDMA chairman said that the institution will provide 525 beds for the six hospitals of Karachi to facilitate the coronavirus patients. He added that the institution will continue to play its role for the betterment of Sindh.

The chief minister praised the performance of NDMA for its efforts to eliminate coronavirus and locusts.
