ISLAMABAD: Former premier Nawaz Sharif on Friday slammed his political rivals – Pakistan People’s Party and Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI), saying their politics is aimed to deceive the masses.

While interacting with media persons on the premises of the accountability court hearing graft cases against him and members of his family, Sharif said judicial reforms would be a part of his party’s manifesto for the upcoming general elections.

He emphasized that the country was in dire need of judicial reforms, adding that the door to reforms in the country’s judicial system should always remain open.

The former premier asked what could be the rationale behind his removal as president of the ruling party.

He said his party will continue to play its role for ensuring fair and free elections in the country.

Slamming his political rivals, Sharif said the politics the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) were doing was aimed to deceive the masses. They always look to umpire’s finger and spun plans to come into power through backdoor, he added.

The PML-N supreme leader said an undeclared alliance between both parties to support independent senator from Balochistan Sadiq Sanjrani for Senate chairmanship was bearing on their image, which was why their public gatherings drew smaller crowds.

He said people knew who was behind election of Sanjrani as Senate chairman.
