Security stepped up in Islamabad amid ultimatums

According to sources, 20 companies of police have taken positions around the venue of the sit-in of Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT).

Around 200 fresh security men have also taken positions around the stage of Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI), to tackle any untoward incident, sources said.

The city administration has tightened the security of the red zone of the capital to keep the marchers away from the sensitive area.

Additional containers, barbed wire, barriers have been placed and additional contingents of police deployed from other cities to the sensitive areas of Islamabad, sources added.
