The apex court was hearing the case at the Karachi registry where it announced the verdict, and instructed the session judges to conduct a survey and submit a report on billboards within one month.
There was also an indefinite ban on any new billboards and hoardings within the city. The court expressed disappointment over the report presented by local authorities about billboards in the city.
It said that billboards were still present on the footpaths in Zamzama Street, and that there will action taken over misrepresentation in the court. The Attorney-General apprised the court that illegal hoardings and billboards had been removed from all public places within the city.
