The meeting of Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee was held on Friday at the Meteorological Office to decide about sighting of the Zil-Hajj moon.

The meeting was chaired by Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rehman and was attended by various religious scholars. He said that there were no eyewitnesses of moon sightings from any part of the country, after which it was mutually decided to make the unanimous decision.

The zonal committee meetings were also held in Lahore, Islamabad and Peshawar to collect evidence on the new moon.

In Saudi Arabia, the moon for Zil-Hajj moon was not sighted on Thursday. The Day of Arafah in the country will now be marked on September 11 whereas  Eid-ul-Azha will be celebrated on September 12.
