Ruet-e-Hilal Committee meets today to sight Ziquad Crescent

PMD issues latest update about Muharram moon

LAHORE: The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will meet Saturday evening (today) to sight the new moon of Ziquad 1444 AH, ARY News reported.

The Central Ruet-e-Hilal Committee will meet at Aiwan-e-Auqaf, near Lahore High Court here with Maulana Muhammad Abdul Khabir Azad in chair.

The committee also comprises officials from the Met department, Suparco, and religious affairs ministry.

The zonal Ruet-e-Hilal committees will also meet simultaneously at their respective headquarters for sighting the Ziquad 1444 AH moon.

The Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) earlier said that the new moon of Ziquad 1444 AH will born on crossing conjunction point at 20:53 PST on 19-05-2023.

According to astronomical parameters, there is a chance of sighting the moon of Ziquad, 1444 AH on the evening of 20-05-2023 i.e. on 29th of Shawwal, 1444 AH.

According to climate record, the weather is expected to be fair or partly cloudy in most parts of the country.

Ziquad is the 11th month of the Islamic lunar calendar.
