TANK: Renowned religious scholar Qazi Muhammad Athar was gunned down by unknown persons near a market here on Wednesday, ARY News reports.
Maulana Qazi Athar was en route to a market here when unknown persons opened fire at him due to which he was severely injured. He was shifted to District Headquarters Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
He was the son of senior religious scholar Qazi Habibullah. He was from District Tank and was the prayer leader of Bilal Tank Mosque.
According to hospital sources, he died after receiving bullets to his head.
