The Punjab government has announced 10 per cent salary hike in budget 2025-26, ARY News reported.
Unveiling the Punjab budget 2025-26 with over Rs5.3 trillion, Punjab Finance Minister Mujtaba Shujaur Rehman said Punjab is progressing in the leadership of CM Punjab Maryam Nawaz.
The Punjab finance minister said Rs661 billion have been allocated for non-development expenditures in the education department, while Rs15 billion will support the Honhaar Scholarships program.
Additionally, Rs4.5 billion will be used to provide student stipends.
Under a major tech initiative, 112,000 students will receive laptops worth Rs27 billion and Rs10 billion, respectively.

For public school infrastructure improvements, Rs5 billion has been allocated.
In the health sector, the development budget stands at Rs181 billion, with an additional Rs450 billion set aside for non-development expenses.
Punjab has proposed Rs12 billion allocation for Nawaz Sharif Institute of Cancer Treatment & Research. Rs2.6 billion for the Nawaz Sharif Institute of Cardiology.
Furthermore, Rs109 billion have been proposed for land acquisition and establishment of the Nawaz Sharif Medical District. Rs9 billion allocated for the Maryam Nawaz Health Clinics Program.
Rs12.6 billion set aside for the Maryam Nawaz Community Health Program.
