PTI, PPP decide to join hands in Parliament

Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Pakistan Tehrik-i-Insaf (PTI) in a significant development have decided to work in coordination to boost opposition in the National Assembly.

PTI central leader Shah Mehmood Qureshi leading a party delegation called on Leader of the Opposition Syed Khurshid Shah on Tuesday at the latter’s Parliament chamber to discuss options for playing the role of a combined opposition.

Sources said that the two major opposition parties have agreed to raise issues in coordination, from a single platform.

The PTI has shown its willingness for the first time in its parliamentary history, to join a combined opposition.

Earlier, the party had at a meeting of its parliamentary group had decided to approach the leader of the opposition and discuss the matter of forming joint opposition.

The meeting presided over by Shah Mehmood Qureshi had complained that the PTI was being ignored in setting the agenda of the National Assembly.
