KARACHI: Workers of the Pak Sarzameen Party (PSP) and Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) on Sunday scuffled after they came face to face, while the formers were holding a rally in connection with Independence Day, at Shah Faisal Colony in Karachi, ARY News reported.

The party workers raised slogans against each other. The situation remained tense for a long time at Shah Faisal Chowk as some of them scuffled with each other. Some party officials later intervened to calm down the tension.

A huge contingent of police and Rangers have arrived at the scene to avert any possible untoward situation. Police said they were trying to soothe the tension.

The PSP rally had to cross from this point and its local workers had gathered to join them.

Chairman PSP Mustafa Kamal was also expected to inaugurate the roundabout.
