Lahore High Court (LHC) today accepted the bail plea of Qasim Zia, a former provincial president of PPP and former member of the national hockey team.

The court had also directed Zia to submit a surety bond of Rs 100,000 as bail amount.

Talking to media after his release from jail, Qasim Zia claimed that he was subjected to political victimization.

He said no one had filed any complaint against him. ” I was made chairman of a company, which has nothing to do with me,” Zia said.

He said he will talk on the matter in detail after announcement of the detailed court verdict.

National Accountability Bureau (NAB) had arrested Qasim Zia on August 8 this year, on the charges of being one of the accused in a scam worth millions of rupees.

NAB claimed that they had received over 80 complaints of cheating and fraud against the PPP leader and other officials of the company.
