KARACHI: Former President Asif Ali Zardari on Monday said in the next general elections the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) would make government in the center and Punjab as well, ARY News reported.

“We will become deciding factor (in General Elections 2018) and make government in the center and Punjab as well,” he said in an interview to a local news channel.

He lashed out at the former prime minister Nawaz Sharif for having close ties with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who is accused in 2002 Gujarat Massacre of Muslims. Modi even visited Pakistan once last year while Nawaz was in the seat.

“Modi does not come on my invitation, while he comes in a flash when Nawaz is in the rule,” he said.

Zardari said Nawaz was negating Pakistan through his policies and the country could face grave troubles because of his politics.

He boasted that he expelled former president Pervez Musharraf from power, else he would have again imposed martial law in the country. He let the Pakistan Muslim League-N (PML-N) make government in Punjab to get rid of Musharraf.

“Nobody else could dare to expel the former dictator from power,” he said adding that “while Nawaz provided Musharraf the chance to flee from the country.”
