Police on Thursday apprehended a fake journalist Niaz Ahmed, 49, who used to extract money from people by portraying him to be a newsman.
Officials also recovered several forged cards of different media organizations from the accused, which he used for identifying him to the people.
The accused used to travel to different cities and had been extorting money through blackmailing for past ten years.
