PML-Q in its reply argued that the protest is a political issue and not comes in the purview of the apex court.

The party further said that the sit-ins should be viewed in the context of the political situation and not as a human rights matter.

It urged for the scrutiny of the constitutional status of the existing parliament in view of the allegations of rigging in general elections.

The reply also refers the killings in Lahore in June a cause of these sit-ins and pleaded to the court to dismiss all petitions against the protest.

The Supreme Court hearing a set of petitions against sit-ins by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and the Pakistan Awami Tehreek (PAT) on the Constitution Avenue, had issued notices to all parliamentary parties including PML-Q as well as the PAT.

Petitioner Zulfiqar Naqvi pleaded to the court that all parliamentary parties be summoned so the deadlock could be resolved.
