According to police,, unknown persons opened fire at the house of MPA Rana Shamshad, killing him and his son on the spot.
Rana Shamshad was affiliated with Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and he was elected as an MPA from PP-100 Gujranwala.
Police have initiated a probe into the matter, however the motive behind his killing and the identities of the perpetrators are yet to be ascertained.
