PML-N authorizes PM to decide on Taliban talks

ISLAMABAD: A meeting of ruling PML-N Parliamentary Party on Monday entrusted Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to exercise his discretion to hold or refuse talks with Taliban militants, ARY News reported. 

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has said that the government has not renounced the option of dialogue with Taliban at any time.

The members of National Assembly and Senate affiliated with PML-N attended the meeting presided over by Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif.

The parliamentary party meeting authorized the prime minister to take decision on the dialogue with Taliban militants as he deems fit. 

Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif said that the government has not renounced the option of dialogue with Taliban at any time.

Talking to media Sharif said that all resources will be utilized to curb terrorism. 

Federal Interior Minister Chaudhry Nisar Ali briefed the party's lawmakers over the security situation in Karachi and Balochistan. 

The lawmakers' meeting also discussed other issues of national importance.
