Caretaker PM Mulk declares assets

ISLAMABAD: After more than two weeks since taking oath, Caretaker Prime Minister Justice (retd) Nasirul Mulk filed the statement of assets with the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP). 

According to Section 230 of the Election Act 2017, caretakers prime minister, chief ministers and ministers must submit statements of their assets and liabilities and those of their spouses and children within three days of taking oath.

It has been almost two weeks since the interim governments were sworn in at the centre and in all four provinces, but only caretaker PM, Punjab CM and two caretaker ministers have submitted details of their assets with the ECP.

As per the statement of assets, PM Mulk owns properties inside and outside Pakistan. He owns three plots and an apartment in Islamabad and 26 shops in Swat.

His wife, who is a foreign national, has assets worth 272,000 pounds in United Kingdom and a bank balance of 100 million rupees. She also owns properties worth seven hundred thousand dollars in Singapore.

Caretaker Punjab chief minister Dr Hassan Askari declared the assets worth Rs20.48 million, which included a house in Lahore worth Rs7 million and shares worth Rs0.93 million in inherited property.

He has a car, prize bonds valuing Rs930,000 and bank balance of 10 million rupees.

Caretaker interior minister Muhammad Azam Khan has two plots each in Peshawar and Rawapindi whose net worth was declared at Rs6.5 million. His wife also owns a plot in Regi Model Town in Peshawar worth Rs3 million.
