According to details, Prime Minister, Nawaz Sharif advised President Mamnoon Hussain to award Tamgha-e-Shujaat and Sitara-e-Shujaat to 122 students, two teachers and 20 staffers martyred in the deadly terror attack on Peshawar’s Army Public School.
Upon the advice of the prime minister, President Mamnoon Hussain will approve the gallantry awards for the martyrs.
On December 16, last year, Taliban militants had attacked the military-run school in Peshawar killing over 140 students and staffers.
The incident proved to be a turning point and led to a renewed fight against terrorism across the country.
