PKR weakens by Rs3.78 against dollar in interbank

US dollar price, Rs 1.49 drop, interbank trading

KARACHI: The Pakistani rupee weakened by Rs3.78 against the dollar in the interbank market on Tuesday, according to State Bank of Pakistan (SBP) data.

According to the State Bank of Pakistan, the US dollar closed at Rs283.04, 1.34 per cent higher than yesterday’s close of Rs279.26.

Meanwhile, the dollar is being sold at Rs287 in the open market. The Pakistani rupee had gained over Rs10 in past week since the approval of IMF loan programme.

Pakistan on Thursday received the first tranche of $1.2 billion from the International Monetary Fund under the SBA programme.
