Pillion riding banned across Karachi over Muharram security

KARACHI: The government of Sindh has banned pillion riding across the city over the prevailing law and order situation in the Islamic month of Muharram, ARY News reported.

The ban will be effective from 6 PM from Saturday (today) and will continue till the 11th Muharram i.e. 13th October.

Additional Inspector General Mushtaq Mahar said that the ban has been imposed over security situation in the ongoing month of Muharram, and warned citizens that the ban will be strictly implemented.

SHOOTINGS

There were two reported shootings across the city in the span of two hours.

Manzoor Sadiq, the general secretary of the Private Schools Management Association(PSMA), was gunned down in Gulistan-e-Jauhar. His son was also injured in the incident.

Another two people were injured over a firing incident in Gulshan-e-Iqbal.
