A shocking incident was reported from India’s New Delhi where a passenger shot himself near New Jalpaiguri railway station in West Bengal.

According to the Indian media reports, a person shot himself in a general compartment of the train around 8 pm when the train was outside platform number three of New Jalpaiguri station. However, the man is not being identified yet.

As per Indian police statement, as many as three rounds of gun firing were heard by other passengers, while the senior Indian police officials rushed to the compartment and recovered a pistol from the victim’s possession.

Another passenger stated the man shot himself with a gun he pulled from his own backpack. They went on to claim that the victim was engaged in some unnatural behaviour before he shot himself, while no tickets or identity cards were found from the victim.

The officials sent the body for a post-mortem while a probe has been started into the mysterious case.
