Lahore parents reach Karachi to take runaway children back home

KARACHI: Parents of the two children, who had fled their home in Lahore, arrived in Karachi to take custody of their kids, reported ARY News on Saturday.

According to details, the girl, elder in siblings was censured by her mother. Fearing further punishment, the girl left her home with a feeling of resentment. She aboard a train to Karachi along with her younger brother and ended up at Karachi’s Cantt Railway Station.

The two children were found wandering the streets and they subsequently reached the city’s Defence Area, where they were rounded up by the Defence Police Station upon suspicion.

Talking to ARY News, the girl said that she was very embarrassed on what she did and sought forgiveness from her parents. She further said that she had taken her younger brother with her because she couldn’t live without him.

The police later informed ARY News that they had tracked down their family in Lahore, and soon the children would be handed over to their parents. The children were later handed over to Women’s Police Station in a protective custody.
