The P5+1 is a group of six world powers which, in 2006, joined the diplomatic efforts with Iran with regard to its nuclear program. The term refers to the P5 or five permanent members of the UN Security Council, namely China, France, Russia, the United Kingdom, and the United States, plus Germany.

The statement issued by Pakistan Foreign Ministry stated that Pakistan has consistently maintained that the Iran nuclear issue should be peacefully resolved through dialogue. As a neighbouring country, we have also reiterated that reciprocal confidence-building measures relating to Iran’s nuclear programme auger well for peace and security in our region.

The statement further added that Pakistan look forward to the expeditious and smooth implementation of the provisions of the comprehensive nuclear agreement by all its signatories.
