TEHRAN: Pakistan and Iran have stressed the need for maintaining sustainable border security, joint actions to fight narcotics transit, human and weapon trafficking between the two countries.

The understanding was reached at a meeting between Pakistan’s National Security Advisor Nasir Khan Janjua and Secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council Ali Shamkhani in Tehran.

Speaking on the occasion, Janjua said that the Muslims needed to remain vigilant against potential foreign conspiracies designed to strain relations between the two countries.

He said Pakistan will continue its economic and security cooperation with Iran.

Slamming the new US national security strategy, Ali Shamkhani deplored the “double-standard” of the US against the Muslim countries. He said Pakistan will not let any country to damage Tehran-Islamabad bilateral ties.
