The annual report declared Pakistan a ‘dangerous’ country for journos. Reporters Without Borders issued a list of 180 countries ranking them with respect to the freedom of press.
The journalist watchdog placed Pakistan on 158th position. The report declared various African countries, Afghanistan, Iraq and India better than Pakistan with respect to journalists’ safety.
The Director of Reporters Without Borders, Delphine Halgand in her word with ARY News regretted that journalists are being killed in Pakistan and that her organization is concerned over journalists’ safety in Pakistan.
She urged the Government of Pakistan to ensure the safety of newsmen and the freedom of press in the country.
Ms Halgand said that Pakistani journalists discharging their duties under difficult circumstances are held in high esteem.
Reporters Without Borders declared Eritrea as the ‘most dangerous’ country for journalists, all over the world.
