He was talking to chief of Naval Staff, Admiral Muhammad Zakaullah who called on him in Islamabad on Tuesday.
The prime minister appreciated the role of Pak-Navy in defending the maritime borders of the country.
He said that the government will take all possible steps to make Pak Navy a modern potent force to contribute effectively to deterrence and national security across the full conflict spectrum.
The Naval Chief briefed the PM Sharif about the professional capabilities pertaining to Pakistan Navy. He said that Pakistan Navy was ready and well equipped to defend vital maritime infrastructure and protect the country against all threats.
