ISLAMABAD: Met office has warned of the heatwave conditions in most plains of the country in next two days as maximum temperature 48 Celsius recorded in Dadu district of Sindh.
“The mercury expected to remain 04 to 06 degree Celsius above the normal temperatures in Sindh, Baluchistan, central and southern Punjab and southern Khyber Pakhtunkhwa,”, Met Office said in a weather report.
The weather will remain hot and dry in most areas of the country with severe hot weather in daytime in plans.
However, likely rainfall with wind and thunderstorm expected in Gilgit Baltistan, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, upper Punjab and Kashmir.
The weather will remain hot and dry in most parts of Sindh today, while strong/dusty winds blow likely in afternoon.
Yesterday maximum temperature 48 Celsius recorded in Dadu district, 47 Celsius in Jacobabad, Sibi, Bahawalnagar, Rahim Yar Khan, Bhakkar and Sargodha and 46 degree at Mohen jo Daro and Larkana.
The doctors have advised people to observe precautionary measures to avoid adverse impact of the intense hot weather by keeping them hydrated and avoiding to going outside in the peak hours of the searing temperatures.
A westerly weather system is expected to enter upper parts of the country on 19th May. Rain fall is expected in Kashmir, Islamabad, Pothohar region including northeast Punjab, upper Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa and Gilgit-Baltistan on 19th/20th May.
