ISLAMABAD: One person was shot dead and four others were critically injured when unknown assailants opened fire outside an imambargah in Sector I-8 area, ARY News reported.
Armed men indiscriminately opened fire outside imambaragah Bab-ul-Ilm, killing one individual who was coming out after offering his prayers. The assailants escaped after the incident on motorcycles.
Rescue officials reached the scene of the incident and shifted them to PIMS hospital where the injured were provided medical treatment.
Police said the deceased has been identified as Hubdar Hussain and was an employee of a government organisation. The injured could not be identified as yet. Police said a search is underway for the assailants and they will be apprehended soon.
