ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Sheikh Rasheed on Friday announced that mobile phone services in Islamabad will not be suspended in the wake of the meeting of the Council for Foreign Ministers of Organization of Islamic Conference (OIC) on Afghanistan, ARY News reported.
“It has been decided by the interior ministry, police, CDA to keep mobile phone services open,” Sheikh Rasheed said while talking to newsmen in Islamabad here today.
The minister said that the Islamabad administration has already announced public holidays on Saturday and Monday.
He said that Pakistan is in contact with all institutions in the wake of OIC foreign ministers meeting scheduled on Sunday and added that will take care of our guests.

On Thursday, the sources said that federal government had decided to suspend mobile services in Islamabad for three days in the wake of the meeting of Council for Foreign Ministers of OIC.
Delegations from 57 countries would participate in the OIC moot to be hosted by Islamabad to discuss the ongoing humanitarian situation in Afghanistan in the aftermath of a Taliban takeover. The delegation of P-5 countries is also invited to the meeting.
